Tacos El Grullense began selling tacos and delicious Mexican cuisine in Southern California when its' founder, Rafael Guerrero, immigrated there with his family from Jalisco, Mexico, in the 1970s. Don Rafa, as he's affectionately known as, and his family made their way to Redwood City, and in 1987, they opened their doors in Downtown Redwood City. Tacos El Grullense #1 has since been a staple of Redwood City.
Candelaria Guerrero, daughter of Don Rafa, and her husband David Patiño have taken over managing the restaurant. They have since expanded the business and added Tacos El Grullense Grill and Tacos El Grullense C&D. They have continued to honor her father's legacy by serving quality food while holding on to their Mexican roots and strong family culure.
